Our friend Micha Kurz recently appeared on GRITtv with Laura Flanders to speak about the current situation in Israel. Micha is the co-founder of Breaking the Silence, an organization that allows soldiers in the IDF "to confidentially speak out about what they did and saw while in the military," and is also the founder of Grassroots Jerusalem, an organization which publicizes and helps to coordinate the activities of non-governmental, grassroots organizations working in Jerusalem. With the dream of a truly unified and healthy Jerusalem, Micha is very optimistic about the direction Jerusalem, and Israeli society as a whole, is taking - and he invites us to "jump on the bandwagon" and become a part of the widespread, positive change that is already occurring in Israel.
At Derusha Publishing, we also dream of a healthy and vibrant Israeli society which reflects the values which we believe are essential to the Jewish tradition - values such as communal inclusiveness and personal responsibility. We actively sponsor and participate in respectful dialogues which focus on the pressing question of the day: How can we work together to help Israel overcome its obstacles and achieve its full potential?
